Writing reviews

How do I write a review?
Open Write a review, find the place, choose its branch, give it one to five stars, a title and what happened, and the month you went. Each review is checked before it’s published.
Do I need an account?
Yes: an account confirmed by a code to your phone or email, with no password. Reading is open to everyone. Until Agoo Reviews opens fully, new accounts are by invitation; existing accounts sign in as normal.
What do the labels on reviews mean?
Each review says what was checked about the person behind it: a Verified visit (Agoo’s own check-in or booking record), Invited by the business, Phone confirmed or Email confirmed. A label never says a review is true, and never changes a score. How scores work
How is my name shown?
Your first name and the first letter of your last name (“Kofi M.”), or a name you choose. Reviews of clinics, schools and places of worship show initials only. No business ever sees your phone number or email address.
Can I change or delete my review?
Yes, from Your reviews. A changed review is checked again and keeps its first date. You can review the same branch again after six months (twelve for a school); the new review replaces the old one.
Why was my review held or removed?
Only for the reasons in the guidelines, the same whatever the stars: personal details, a crime pinned on a person, threats, advertising, a review that isn’t your own experience. You’re told why, and how to ask again.

Your account and data

How do I download my data or delete my account?
From Settings: download everything Agoo Reviews holds about you, sign out everywhere, or delete your account and its reviews.
Can I keep my profile private?
Yes. A private profile shows your name and nothing else; your reviews still appear on the places you reviewed.

For businesses

Is my business on Agoo Reviews?
Search for it above. Agoo organisations that serve the public are listed 14 days after their Owners are told; other businesses are listed when someone adds them and a moderator matches them to a public record. Clinics, schools and places of worship are checked before they open.
How do I claim my page?
Claiming is free for every business, and lets you reply to reviews and keep your details right. Open your page and choose “Claim this page, free”, sign in with a code, then prove it’s yours: an email at your website’s domain, a code to the page’s phone, or a registration document a moderator checks. Agoo Reviews for businesses
How do I reply to reviews?
Once you’ve claimed your page, from your business area on Agoo Reviews; if your organisation uses Agoo, from the Console too (Feedback, then Public reviews). One public reply to each review, free.
Can I pay for a better score, a higher place or to be featured?
No. Money never changes a score, the order of search, a Top rated list or what’s featured, and no business can hide, edit or reorder a review. Paid review tools help you ask more customers and see what they say, nothing more.
What is Featured by Agoo Reviews?
A few businesses Agoo’s editors choose for the home page, a category or a town, always labelled. It’s never sold, and it never touches a score, search or Top rated. Some featured businesses belong to the Ardent group, which runs Agoo Reviews; their cards say so. How Featured works
How does a place get into Top rated?
By its score alone: the highest scores among places with three reviews or more, by one published rule for everyone. The rule

Adding a business

A business is missing. How does it get added?
Adding a business from the site opens with accounts for everyone. Until then, send its name, its town and its website or phone to agoo@ardentafrica.com. A moderator checks it against a public record before it’s listed. Homes are never listed.

Reports and legal notices

How do I report a review or a reply?
Choose Report under the review or reply, or “Report this page” on a business’s page, and say what’s wrong. Every report joins one queue with a published clock; no business is handled faster. Trust and safety
How do I send a legal notice?
With the legal-notice form, or to Ardent Africa Foundation LBG, 10A Mega Street, Adentan Municipality, Accra, Ghana. Send a legal notice
Was I offered something for a review, or asked to pay to change one?
Tell us. Rewards for reviews are banned, and so is asking for payment to change one: report it and it’s handled within one working day. Report something

Still stuck?

Write to us and a person answers. Questions, reports and legal notices all go to the same address.
