For everyone who reads reviews
How Agoo Reviews Helps You
Reviews you can check, and a score no one can buy. Here is how Agoo Reviews keeps it that way, and what it does for you beyond reading.
Trust
Every Review Says How It Was Checked
A label on every review says what was checked about the person behind it. A label never says a review is true, the business can't change it, and it never changes the score.
- Verified visit: Agoo's own record shows a check-in or booking at this place.
- Invited by the business: The business sent its review link to all its customers, with no choosing.
- Phone confirmed: The reviewer's account has a confirmed phone number.
- Email confirmed: The reviewer's account has a confirmed email address.
- Paid visit, beside a label: The invitation came after a completed payment that the business's own payment system reported to Agoo. Every payment is invited, or none.
- Proof seen by Agoo, beside a label: After a question about this review, Agoo saw proof of the visit, such as a receipt.
The score
A Score Anyone Can Work Out
Every place starts from the same point, newer reviews count for more, and old ones stop counting. The formula is published, and money never changes a score, the order of reviews or a place in search.
- No business can edit, hide, reorder or pay to remove a review
- Paying and non-paying businesses are shown apart in the Transparency Report
- Featured places are chosen by Agoo's editors and labelled, never paid for
Writing
Write a Review That Helps
The most useful reviews are about one visit, told plainly. Yours shows your first name and initial, or a name you choose; no business ever sees your phone number or email address.
- Say what happened, when, and at which branch
- Be specific: the wait, the price, what was said, what was fixed
- Name staff by first name and role only, never their personal details
- Good or bad, keep it to your own visit; a photo or a receipt can help
On WhatsApp
Write It in a WhatsApp Chat
Scan the Review on WhatsApp code on a business's poster, or send REVIEW and the branch's short code to Agoo on WhatsApp. A few messages and it's written: the stars, a few words and a photo if you like. It's checked like any other review.
Putting things right
Get a Problem Sorted
When a review says something went wrong, the business can open a case and talk with you to put it right. You say yourself whether it was sorted out, and the business's page shows how many customers said so.
- Sorts Things Out counts customers' own answers, never the business's
- Your review stays as you wrote it, whatever happens
- Our guides say which regulator takes a complaint further
Before you pay
Is This the Real Number?
Someone sent you a number to call or pay, or a MoMo name to send money to? Check it against the official numbers and merchant names businesses have proved. Free for everyone, and we don't keep what you type.
Choosing
Lists, Compare and the Most Trusted
Save places, make lists to keep or share, and compare places side by side: scores, reviews, opening hours and facts. Each year the Most Trusted list names places by category and region, decided only by the public score method, never by payment.
